~~~ Ms. Connie Jean Marosi ~~~
Connie was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in October of 2001. She passed away on February 17th, 2007 due to long term complications...it is a very long story that I will not go into for now.
For those of you who knew Connie, then you know what we lost. For those of you who did not know Connie you will feel her spirit at this event. She so loved riding her black and cream -colored Harley Davidson around the island and afar. She came to Gloucester in 1998 while cruising on her bike from the North End of Boston where she resided for seven years after moving out here from her hometown in Michigan. She fell in love with the island and decided to make it her new hometown. She promptly found an apartment on Stacy Boulevard and moved in post- haste. She quickly became employed locally and embraced the motorcycle community with her heart and soul. She found her niche!
Connie had a way of drawing people in with her gentle tone and demeanor. She cared about everyone she met two legged or four legged! She treated all with compassion and kindness. Connie had a great capacity for compassion and would always be the first to help out those in need. She was wise beyond her years learning all she could from life.
So, it is in her name and wondrous spirit that we ride on this day and we remember...
Some people come into our lives and quickly go...
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to a new understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile,
leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never, ever the same."
