Connie Marosi Memorial Ride

Hi~
Thanks for checking out our website. The Iron Mermaids are rallying once again for the 2nd Connie Marosi Memorial Ride. It will be a scenic ride around Cape Ann on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Staging will begin at 9:30 AM in the Gloucester High School parking lot, ride out at 11:30 sharp!
Our ride route will cruise around Cape Ann via Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester before returning to Cape Ann's Marina Resort (75 Essex Avenue, Gloucester) for food, a cash bar, live music, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle under the tent!!
One of Connie's passions' was animals. So, in keeping with that, this years' ride will benefit the Cape Ann Animal Aid New Building Fund. All proceeds will go toward the the building of a new, larger and greatly needed animal shelter . The Cape Ann Animal Aid, (or C.A.A.A.) is a non-profit, no-kill shelter. They are located on the east end of Main Street here in Gloucester. The shelter operates from a teeney -tiny -little building with less than adequate space! The people volunteering there, working and managing the shelter are an amazing group. Their dedication, love and compassion is endless while caring for all of the homeless dogs and cats of Cape Ann and beyond. The C.A.A.A. has been around for many, many years and has worked miracles for animals in need of people and people in need of animals.
We will be delving into the history and origins of C.A.A.A. and will have a showcase of our findings "under the tent" at the Cape Ann Marina after the run along with some photos and a dedication or two! Maybe we can sweet talk some of those puppies and kittys to join us "under the tent" as well!
So please join us Sunday September 28th for a great day of riding, eating and dancing for a great cause. See you there!
